A new dynamic for Impact Business in Senegal.

What a pleasure to see the dynamics of the Social and Solidarity Economy take shape in Africa!

At a time when our territories are looking for fairer, more inclusive and sustainable economic models, it is essential to create spaces such as the SSE and Social Innovation Forum in Tunis. These meetings are valuable for affirming our collective vision and for moving forward together, with ambition and solidarity.

🤝 For ComDev Africa, it was an honor to be represented from 26 to 28 May 2025 by Ahmed Ben Ghanem, Country Manager in Tunisia, at this major event organized by the International Labour Organization, in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Economy and Planning and the Delegation of the European Union.

🔎 Under the theme « The role of the SSE in promoting social justice », the forum brought together actors from all over Africa and elsewhere, for three days of panels, dialogues and co-construction. On the program:
• 15 panels led by more than 50 experts on topics such as the just transition, social innovation, the circular economy or solidarity value chains.
• An SSE Village with more than 100 exhibitors spread over 9 thematic pavilions highlighting crafts, sustainable agriculture, social design…

🎤 The striking interventions of Mr. Coffi Agossou (ILO Africa) and Ms. Simel Esim (UN SSE Task Force) reminded us that the SSE is much more than an alternative: it is a powerful response to the challenges of our time.

🌱 For us, this forum marks a key step in our commitment to Tunisia, a country where we want to build a dynamic SSE ecosystem, connected to local realities and focused on youth. Our programs like agi_RE will continue to inspire and act for more just, resilient and cohesive societies.

🙏 A big thank you to Ahmed Ben Ghanem for bringing our voices to the table with conviction and for helping to build bridges between Africa’s initiatives.
